The Healing Power of Gratitude

How would you like to improve your sleep?

Decrease anxiety?

Relieve depression?

Strengthen your immune system?

Decrease chronic pain?

And,  All this at no cost and with no negative side effects!

How can we do this? Simply by practicing GRATITUDE.

GRATITUDE is a powerful emotion.

It can transform our outlook and lead to a more contented life.

GRATITUDE rewires the mind.

Studies have shown that expressing gratitude releases dopamine and activates the reward center of our brain.  Over time practicing gratitude can help us gain perspective and cope with the challenges of this fast-changing world.  We become more resilient and mentally flexible.

GRATITUDE acts as a magnifying glass

Use it to focus on the beauty and joy that exists even during the most difficult times.

There is one caveat though:  the amount of dopamine and reward centre activity in the brain is in direct ratio to the intensity of your feelings of gratitude.  So if you are casual in your gratitude practice, or it becomes a routine, don’t expect the magic of transformation!
