Let's Talk about life...

Finding Answers, One Question at a time.

A Weekly Conversation about Your Everyday Concerns.

Before You Scroll Past This One…

Most of us have become very good at moving quickly. We scan our emails, skim the headlines, check what needs our attention and, move on to the next thing. But every once in a while, I think it is worth stopping long enough to learn something that may actually change what we do tomorrow.

This is one of those conversations.

This week we're looking at your skin, but probably not in the way you're expecting. We aren't going to give you another list of products you should buy or tell you to drink more water and get more sleep. Instead, we're going to take you beneath the surface and look at how your body actually builds skin, what your food contributes to that process, why movement and your lymphatic system matter, and what some of the changes you're seeing in the mirror may be asking you to look at differently.

Then we're going to bring it all back to everyday life. We'll take you into the kitchen to look at the foods that provide specific ingredients your skin uses, show you four movements you can do while waiting for the kettle to boil, travel to the Mediterranean to discover just how much plant material goes into some of the natural oils we use, and finally, Allana is going to take you back more than twenty years to an aromatherapy class where a simple idea became the Casaroma Spa Line that people are still using today.

So make yourself a cup of tea and stay with us for a little while.

There are a few things in this week's conversation that I think may make you look at your skin—and the way you care for it—very differently.

Enjoy,

LyzaLee & Allana

This Week we are talking about your skin.

What if the changes you’re seeing in your skin have less to do with finding a better cream—and more to do with what’s happening beneath the surface?

Your skin is constantly rebuilding itself, but it can only work with what your body gives it. From digestion and nutrient delivery to circulation and the tiny fibroblasts responsible for producing collagen, there is an entire story happening long before you look in the mirror.

Come with us inside the body and discover what your skin actually needs to build healthy skin.

Skin and Nutrition

Your skin doesn't just need “healthy food.” It needs specific ingredients to do specific jobs—and even the way you store, prepare and cook those foods can change what your body receives.

From the natural colours in carrots, tomatoes and leafy greens to the surprising difference between fresh, frozen and overcooked vegetables, we're taking you into the kitchen to discover what different foods actually give your skin and why it matters.

You may never look at your dinner plate quite the same way again.

Movement Matters, Even For Skin

What does walking, stretching—or even moving while the kettle boils—have to do with your skin?

Much more than most of us realize.

Movement helps circulation deliver oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, while muscle contractions, joint movement and breathing help keep lymph moving through its remarkable network. Suddenly, exercise isn't just about fitness or burning calories—it becomes part of how the body delivers, circulates and cares for what your skin needs from within.

And we have four simple kitchen-counter movements you can start using today.

Climate Watch

That little bottle of essential oil or olive oil in your cupboard has a much bigger story than you might imagine. It began with a field, a farmer, a growing season—and an enormous amount of plant material.

When heat, drought and water shortages affect Mediterranean crops such as lavender, thyme, cistus, olives and almonds, the effects can eventually reach all the way to us. Just how much does nature provide to make the oils we use? The numbers may completely change the way you look at that bottle.

What about Spa Line?

More than 20 years ago, Spa Line didn't begin with a marketing plan or a new product launch. It began in one of our aromatherapy classes with a simple question: “What can we make that will help?”

That afternoon became five different skincare systems for Normal, Dry, Oily, Sensitive and Mature skin—and a simple three-step routine of cleanse, tone and moisturize that is still part of Casaroma today.

Come hear Allana's story of how Spa Line began, discover which set is right for your skin, and learn exactly how to use all three products morning and night.
