Upgrading Our Website (Without Losing Our Minds!)

Casaroma Wellness specializes in personalized aromatherapy products and holistic wellness solutions, including custom blends, nutrition consultations, and mental health support, to help individuals improve their body, mind, and spirit. Founded in 1997 by Allana and Lyzalee Downie, we have always been committed to providing high-quality Essential oils and Natural products. We have made education our priority to help empower people to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. We hope we have made a positive difference in your life and the lives of your family!

So... To update you all. We decided in April 2025 after 30 years of a brick and mortar business, to move our business totally online. The thought was simple, but the task was crazy. We already had a website – Right? Well, only partly right. The old website had a lot of problems that we had no clue how to fix. We had had several people working on it over the years, from novices to professionals. Bottom line was, we needed a new platform… How does one do that? What even is that? LyzaLee and I are great Aromatherapists, Nutritionists, and Lifestyle Mentors, but we have very little knowledge of websites and the online world. After asking around and searching for the right person to do the job, we found him, and thanks to techno maestro Ryan, we got our site moved over.

Now we are ready to go… Right? Well, only partly right.

The move was automated, you would think that would be a great thing, but then we discovered that there were huge problems with some of the products and information that was on our site, so every product had to be checked for accuracy, pricing updates, new safety information, photos….Yikes!

We admit it, we don’t speak fluent tech. Once again, we say to ourselves, our skills are more about aromatherapy, nutrition, and helping people feel good rather than coding and troubleshooting.

So with courage ( using black pepper and lemon) and determination (using our

stamina blend), we took on the challenge (using huge amounts of stress away and intense relief blends).

We have learned that trial and error is a real strategy. Sometimes you just have to

click around until it works!

We are telling ourselves that perfection is overrated. A website is a living thing. It

doesn’t have to be flawless. But it does need to be friendly, functional and reflect

who we are.

So if you happen to stop by our site and notice a few things shifting around,

missing photos, weird or shifting banners — don’t worry. It’s just us learning as we

go, celebrating each little upgrade, and trying not to break the internet in the

process.

1) Online- Our online store is open 24 hours a day. Shop at your convenience, maybe enjoy a cup of java while you explore our site and if you are not sure what you need and want to talk with us about your specific challenge, book a free 10-minute Zoom or phone call with us. We are still here, ready to listen and help.

2) We are also in person down at the Saturday Farmers' Market in Dartmouth, NS. Every Saturday from 8am -1pm. Come and see us there.
