Restorative Shampoo was originally developed around the idea that caring for the appearance of the hair also means paying attention to the scalp.

Rosemary and Cedarwood were central to the original Restorative & Fortifying formula, with Lemon and Roman Chamomile completing the aromatic blend. Over the many years we've made Restorative Shampoo, customers have repeatedly told us that they particularly enjoy how fresh their scalp feels and that their hair appears fuller and healthier with regular use.

Ingredients & Why They Were Chosen

Our Botanical Shampoo Base

Our shampoo base is more than a carrier for the essential oils.

It combines coconut-derived cleansers with vegetable glycerin and olive oil, along with botanical extracts of pine, chamomile, nettle, dandelion and red clover. Magnesium chloride and apple cider vinegar complete the formula.

This gives Restorative a botanical cleansing foundation before we even add its signature essential-oil blend.

Rosemary

One of the best-known aromatic ingredients in scalp and hair-care formulations. Rosemary was an important part of the original Restorative & Fortifying concept and gives the shampoo its fresh, herbaceous character.

Cedarwood

Warm, woody and grounding, Cedarwood has a long history of use in scalp and hair preparations and complements Rosemary beautifully.

Lemon

Bright and fresh, Lemon contributes a clean citrus note and helps give Restorative its fresh aromatic character.

Roman Chamomile

Soft and herbaceous with a gentle floral character, Roman Chamomile rounds out the stronger Rosemary, Cedarwood, and Lemon aromas.

Why This Combination?

Restorative was never intended to be just another nicely scented shampoo.

Rosemary and Cedarwood form the heart of the formula, while Lemon adds freshness and Roman Chamomile softens and balances the aromatic blend.

Underneath those essential oils is a shampoo base containing olive oil, vegetable glycerin, apple cider vinegar, and multiple botanical extracts, creating a formula designed around both the scalp and the appearance of the hair.

How To Use

Wet the hair thoroughly.

Apply a small amount of Restorative Shampoo and massage gently through the scalp and hair, spending a little time massaging the scalp rather than immediately rinsing.

Lather and rinse thoroughly. Repeat if needed.

Restorative is concentrated, so start with a small amount and add more only when necessary.

Use consistently according to your normal hair-washing routine.

Is Restorative Shampoo a hair-growth shampoo?Restorative was originally created with scalp care, fortifying and the appearance of fuller hair in mind, which is why Rosemary and Cedarwood were selected for the formula. As a cosmetic product, we describe Restorative as supporting a fresh, cared-for scalp and the appearance of healthier, fuller hair rather than promising new hair growth.

Is it only for thinning hair? No. It can also be used when hair looks dull, tired, or fine, or whenever you want to make scalp care a more intentional part of your shampoo routine.

Can men use it? Absolutely. Restorative Shampoo isn't formulated for a particular gender.

What does it smell like? Fresh, herbal, and woody rather than heavily perfumed. Rosemary and Cedarwood provide much of its character, Lemon adds brightness and Roman Chamomile softens the overall aroma.

Is it concentrated? Yes. A little goes a long way, so begin with less than you think you need.

How often should I use it? Use Restorative according to your usual hair-washing schedule. There is no need to wash your hair more frequently just because you're using Restorative.
