Peppermint Blend

Peppermint

One of our biggest sellers during the Christmas season is the Peppermint Candy Cane (diffuser blend).  This blend of cocoa and peppermint essential oils is a favourite of children and adults alike and it gives your guests a warm welcome.

Although the Peppermint Candy Cane diffuser blend is safe for everyone, pure peppermint essential oil (link here to safety sheet) does have some cautions attached.  It is a strong oil with a high menthol content so we have to be careful with it around children and pets.  It is too strong for little noses and dogs, whose sense of smell is over 10,000 times more sensitive than ours, it can be overwhelming.  But the smell of peppermint is invigorating and brings to mind so many happy times for many of us!

No matter how great it smells, though, we should never ingest it.  Although I have seen a few drops in a glass of water recommended on many internet sites essential oils are not water soluble.  One drop of peppermint essential oil is the equivalent of about 30 cups of peppermint tea compressed into an oil droplet.  Although the pure oil can be very irritating if used directly on the skin, it can be blended into creams, lotions, roll-ons… and the list goes on.

We hope you enjoy this great oil and use it safely.
